SEN. STABENOW RECEIVES THE AMERICAN AGRI-WOMEN'S "CHAMPIONS OF AGRICULTURE" AWARD

Senator Debbie Stabenow received the 2012 American Agri-Women "Champions of Agriculture" award during AAW's annual Washington D.C. legislative Fly In. Senator Debbie Stabenow of Michigan is currently serving as Chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee, and a member of the Senate Energy, Finance, and Budget Committees, she has a powerful and unique role to play in shaping our nation's manufacturing, health care, and agriculture policies, which are so critical to our future.
Her leadership on the Agriculture Committee has led to an historic new focus on agricultural research, Michigan's specialty crops, the development of renewable fuels, and critical land, habitat, and water conservation efforts.
"We are honored to have Sen. Stabenow in a key role during the important discussions of the 2012 Farm Bill", said Karen Yost, AAW president. "She has taken ownership of her responsibility as Senate Ag Committee chair and worked tirelessly to promote unity within members of her group to work toward a finalized Farm Bill."
Past recipients are Rep. Collin Peterson (D-MN), Sen. James Inhoffe (R-OK), Rep. Dennis Cardoza (D-CA) and Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS).
