ANOTHER ETHANOL PLANT SUSPENDS PRODUCTION Jun. 29, 2012
BrownfieldAgNews reports:
Texas-based Valero Energy Corporation has suspended ethanol production at its Linden, Ind. facility.
Valero cites "economic reasons" and negative ethanol margins at the plant for the temporary shutdown. In an email to Bloomberg Businessweek, company spokesman Bill Day says they expect to resume production once market conditions improve.
Earlier this month, Valero closed their Albion, Neb. plant. According to Valero, both plants have approximately 60 full-time employees, all of whom will remain on the payroll during the temporary shutdown.
