Jul. 10, 2012 Red River Farm Network reports: North Dakota Farmers Union (NDFU) says it will open a third restaurant in the Washington, DC area this fall. NDFU development specialist Mark Watne says the restaurant will be located at the site of their original Agraria restaurant. "Farmers, Fishers and Bakers is now under construction, with the intent to open in October," he says. Watne says the Founding Farmers restaurants offer farm-inspired food in an eco-friendly setting. "We attempt to source all our food from US family farms." The restaurants also donate food waste to George Washington University for use as fertilizer in its food test plots. The University then donates food from its test plots to the restaurants. Tweet |
