IL FERTILIZER AND CHEMICAL ASSN TO DEVELOP NH3 TRAINING PROGRAM
Source: Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association news release

IFCA is working closely with the Illinois Department of Agriculture, Illinois Farm Bureau, and Illinois Corn Growers Association to develop an online anhydrous ammonia safety trainig program for farmers. The training program being developed is based off of actual anhydrous ammonia accidents that have occurred in Illinois over the last two years. Although the training program is strictly voluntary to attend, IFCA is working closely with IFB, IDA and ICGA to promote the program.

The Asmark Institute is also developing a day long anhydrous ammonia safety course for farmers which will be offered at the new Asmark Agricenter in Bloomington, IL. Both the online farmer ammonia training and Asmark Institute farmer ammonia training courses are voluntary programs which will be available for anyone to attend. Both training programs are scheduled to be available January 2013.
