FARM FOUNDATION RELEASES EXPANDED WEBSITE, FACEBOOK PRESENCE

Farm Foundation, NFP has expanded the reach and functionality of its communication and outreach efforts with launch of a new website (www.farmfoundation.org) and the expansion of its Facebook presence (facebook.com/thefarmfoundation).
"Enhancing the ability to easily gain information and exchange ideas is at the core of our website redesign," says Mary Thompson, the Foundation's Vice President of Communication. "True to the Foundation's tradition, our goal is to provide objective information to diverse audiences, as well as to encourage those audiences to have ongoing conversations about critical issues in agriculture, the food system and rural regions.
The new website uses bold graphics to highlight Foundation work on timely issues. Simplified navigation enhances the users' ability to explore the depth of the Foundation's project work, including access to more than a decade of information resources.
The Foundation's Facebook page provides another platform for the wide range of individuals with interests in food, agricultural and rural issues to exchange perspectives. "For almost 80 years, the Foundation has focused on bringing a full range of stakeholders together to understand issues and explore options to address those issues," notes Foundation President Neil Conklin. "As an objective organization, our Facebook page is an agenda-free table for lively and timely discussion."
These communication tools further support A Dialogue on Food and Agriculture in the 21st Century, an ongoing Foundation initiative creating opportunities for a full range of stakeholders to have constructive discussions of the diverse and multiple challenges of increasing food production to meet global demands while maintaining and protecting natural resources.
