DUPONT CELEBRATES 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF ITS PRINCETON, IL, FACILITIES
Source: DuPont

Nearly 500 employees, retirees, seed growers and customers joined together to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Princeton, Ill., production location and research center. Local and state government officials in attendance praised the two locations for their community support and service.

Heartland Business Director Brad Lance challenged the group to leave a legacy behind that will be talked about 75 years from now. "75 years from now, when employees are celebrating the 150th celebration of the Princeton locations, they won't be talking about the machinery you used or this building. They will be talking about how you lived the Core Values and met the challenges of improving the world."

DuPont Pioneer President Paul Schickler talked about the challenge of feeding 9-billion people by 2050. "The farmer that will feed the world in 2050 is 13 years old today. This means the scientist, engineer, investor, agronomist and extension worker is of the same age. DuPont has a goal to engage 2 million young people globally in food and agriculture by 2020 through programs like the FFA and 4-H, and through educational and scholarship opportunities within our communities. We have to reach kids when they are still asking the question,

'What do I want to be when I grow up?' and show them the opportunities in food and agriculture."
