ETHANOL PRODUCTION DOWN 8% FROM YEAR AGO
BrownfieldAgNews reports:

The most recent government report on ethanol production shows another week-to-week decline.

Production levels for the week of August 20th fell by 168,000 gallons per day, down another 1/2% from the previous week's level.

That drops total ethanol production to 34.9 million gallons per day, which is nearly 8% below the levels of one year ago.

According to DTN, that reduction would amount to nearly 60,000 less bushels of corn being processed into ethanol per day, given the weekly change in production.

Even with lower production levels, however, ethanol inventory levels were stable to slightly higher, with total stockpiles listed at nearly 777 million gallons. That's 3% over year ago levels.
