Sep. 6, 2012 Source: GROWMARK news release sent via AgPR--the news distribution service for agriculture Forty-one college students from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin will be able to continue their education with help from the regional agricultural supply cooperative, GROWMARK. They are recipients of GROWMARK-sponsored scholarships aimed at promoting higher education in agriculture and business. "GROWMARK invests in future talent by providing more than $44,000 in scholarships annually," said Ashley McClintock, GROWMARK university relations manager. "We are committed to education and personal development, and the GROWMARK Scholarship Program allows us to recognize the future leaders in agriculture and business." GROWMARK has been supporting college students with scholarships since the early 1960s. Today, they are awarded to students majoring in agriculture or accounting at 16 universities and colleges. Each educational institution is responsible for the selection process and awarding scholarships. University scholarship recipients are honored each year at the GROWMARK Annual Meeting in Chicago. Students receiving scholarships are listed below: Dordt College John Beahm, son of Chester and Carol Beahm of Remington, Va., is majoring in plant science. Illinois State University Bethany Dill, daughter of Dave and Ann Dill of Tremont, Ill., is majoring in accounting. Donald Johnson, son of Donald Johnson of Chicago and Beatrice Mitchell of Tinley Park, Ill., is majoring in crop and soil science. Gabriela Radanova, daughter of Georgi and Iliyana Radanova of Elk Grove Village, Ill., is majoring in finance and international business.
