ENTIRE STATE OF INDIANA DECLARED DISASTER AREA BY USDA
BrownfieldAgNews reports:

After reviewing Loss Assessment Reports, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has declared all 92 Indiana counties as primary natural disaster areas.

"This is another great step in the recovery process, and we remain committed to helping members of our agricultural community get through these difficult times and move forward with renewed optimism," said Lt. Governor Becky Skillman.

The declaration means that eligible farmers in primary and contiguous counties are eligible for low-interest emergency loans through USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA).

Farmers have eight months from the date of the declaration to apply.
