DR. NANCY HINKLE RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS AWARD AT ANNUAL LIVESTOCK INSECT WORKERS' CONFERENCE

Dr. Nancy Hinkle, professor of entomology at the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 56th Annual Livestock Insect Workers' Conference held in Kalispell, Mont. Bayer HealthCare LLC, Animal Health Division, serves as the sponsor for the $5,000 annual award.
Each year, the Program Committee of the Livestock Insect Workers' Conference selects an award recipient from a slate of peer nominations, and recognizes the recipient during the meeting banquet. The selection is based on a number of criteria; the group seeks to recognize an individual who has made significant contributions to the animal health industry in livestock entomology.
"Bayer is proud to help celebrate the career accomplishments of livestock entomologists, and this year we applaud the work of Dr. Nancy Hinkle," said Dr. Doug Ross, Manager, Clinical Development Projects, Bayer. "In addition to her professional achievements and dedication to the industry, Dr. Hinkle also has contributed many volunteer hours to the Livestock Insect Workers' Conference for many years."
To date, 26 entomologists have been recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award which Bayer has sponsored since the late 1990s.
"Dr. Nancy Hinkle is without question a leading global figure in veterinary entomology, respected and admired by her peers for her long, accomplished and balanced record of extension, research and, especially, service to the field," said Dr. Bradley Mullens, professor of entomology, University of California, Riverside. "The breadth of her knowledge is truly impressive. She has steadily and effectively promoted veterinary entomology in many roles, such as her presidency of the Society of Vector Ecologists and extensive service to the Entomological Society of America. Plus, she does it all with grace, style, the highest standards of ethical conduct."
