FINE AMERICAS LAUNCHES MOTIVATE PLANT GROWTH REGULATOR

Fine Americas, Inc. today announced the U.S. launch of its new Motivate® plant growth regulator. Featuring the active ingredient ethephon, Motivate® promotes earlier maturation and improved coloration in a wide variety of high-value crops, including apples, cherries, grapes and tomatoes.

Kevin Forney, technical services manager for Fine Americas, noted that Motivate® offers key benefits in a number of crops. "In apples, Motivate® promotes fruit maturity and loosens fruit, making harvest by hand or machine easier and more efficient. In cherries, it promotes early, uniform ripening while loosening fruit for easier mechanical harvesting. Motivate® also promotes uniform color development in table grapes, while hastening maturity of Thompson Seedless used for raisin production. And in tomatoes, it accelerates ripening and allows processing growers to schedule harvest and handling more efficiently."
