DSM Nutritional Products is pleased to offer RONOZYME RumiStar® as an effective tool for optimizing starch utilization in the dairy cow - a timely management tool, given that dietary starch prices have skyrocketed in the past few weeks.
RONOZYME RumiStar®, a natural enzyme produced by fermentation, is classified as a mono component α-amylase. It works by catalyzing the hydrolysis of starch to mono- and oligosaccharides. RONOZYME RumiStar® is stable and highly active under ruminal conditions. Research conducted at leading universities worldwide with RONOZYME RumiStar® shows increased feed (lb ECM/lb DMI) and starch (lb ECM/Lb starch intake) efficiencies as well as increased fiber digestibility, allowing for lower starch and higher forage diets to be fed. Because starch contributes a substantial percentage (50-75%) of the energy value of grain and corn silage, using RONOZYME RumiStar® to improve corn starch utilization can increase bottom line profitability by reducing feed costs overall.
