HARVEST CONTINUES AT RECORD PACE: 70% OF CORN, 60% OF SOYBEANS

USDA reports this year's corn and soybean harvests continue to move well ahead of the normal pace, while dry weather is keeping winter wheat emergence behind schedule in many key growing states.

As of Sunday, 69% of the U.S. corn crop is harvested, compared to 29% this time last year and the five year average of 28%. 97% has reached maturity, compared to 86% a year ago and 84% on average.

For soybeans, 58% of the crop is harvested, compared to 42% last year and 40% on average, while 93% are dropping leaves, compared to 86% a year ago and 88% on average. 37% of beans are in good to excellent shape, up 2% on the week, with 32% in poor to very poor condition, down 1%.

57% of the winter wheat crop is planted, compared 53% last year and the five year average of 59%. 23% has emerged, compared to 24% a year ago and 30% on average.

20% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are called good to excellent, steady with last week, and 56% are poor to very poor, up 1%.
