Oct. 23, 2012 BrownfieldAgNews reports: USDA reports this year's U.S. corn and soybean harvests remain well ahead of their respective average paces following a dry summer and generally good early autumn conditions. As of Sunday, 87% of the corn crop is harvested, compared to 60% a year ago and the five year average of 49%. For soybeans, 80% is harvested, compared to 77% last year and 69% on average. 81% of the winter wheat crop is planted, compared to 79% a year ago and 80% on average, while 49% has emerged, compared to 51% last year and 56% on average. 21% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are in good to excellent condition, compared to 20% a week ago and 31% a year ago.
