 Oct. 25, 2012 Source: Farm Credit news release Farm Credit, a national provider of financing and related services to agricultural producers and agribusiness, is celebrating Hispanic heritage and personal achievement this week during the 85th National FFA Convention and Expo. Last year, Farm Credit launched a youth outreach program called "Farm Credit Rocks" at the National FFA Convention. The Farm Credit Rocks experience has returned to the FFA Convention Expo and, all FFA attendees are invited to rock with Farm Credit, and get free music too! The Farm Credit Rocks booth is #4311. Here are some more highlights from the 2012 FFA Convention: American Degree: Approximately 3,500 FFA members will receive an American Degree at the Oct. 26 award ceremony. Recipients, representing less than half of one percent of all FFA members, have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to the organization and have made significant accomplishments in Supervised Agricultural Experiences. Farm Credit's Greg Taylor, vice president of association strategic services at AgriBank, will receive an honorary American Degree. Somos FFA, We Are FFA: This year, FFA will celebrate Hispanic heritage during the Annual Convention. Somos FFA, We are FFA is more than just a celebration - it is a call to action. The observances and activities planned will pay tribute to the rich ancestry and traditions of a special community within agriculture, FFA and agricultural education. VIDEO Collegiate Career Fair: Collegiate FFA aims to create premier leaders, enable personal growth and ensure career success. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the wide variety of career and internship opportunities available within the Farm Credit System during the Career Fair (Oct. 24-27) at the CoBank (#188) and Farm Credit (#178) booths. Farm Credit associations and banks across the nation contribute to FFA chapters at a local and regional level, and Farm Credit's National Contributions program is proud to support FFA national programs on behalf of the entire Farm Credit System. In addition to the annual convention, Farm Credit supports the New Century Farmer program and the National FFA Alumni Development Conference. Tweet |
