ADM ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT CHANGES

Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) today announced two management appointments.

Gary Towne has been named vice president, ADM Corn Processing. Towne previously served as chairman of the Management Board of Alfred C. Toepfer International G.m.b.H. (ACTI), a global grain merchandising company of which ADM owns 80 percent.

Domingo Lastra, previously vice president, Business Growth for ADM, has been named chairman of the Management Board of ACTI. Lastra also previously served as president, ADM South America.

Both appointments are effective Nov. 5, 2012.

Biographical Information

Gary Towne, vice president, Corn Processing, joined ADM in 1997. Most recently, he served as chairman of the Management Board of ACTI where he was responsible for leading the ACTI organization.

Prior to that, Towne served as ADM's manager, Global Risk and Ethanol. He received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Indiana University.

Domingo Lastra is chairman of the Management Board of ACTI. He previously served as ADM's vice president, Business Growth, with responsibility for pursuing profitable growth for the company.

Since joining ADM in 1994, Lastra has held a range of merchandising, operations and logistics management roles including president, ADM South America. He received a bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering from the University of Belgrano in Argentina and a master's degree in agricultural economics from the University of Illinois.
