Oct. 30, 2012 Source: Waitt Equipment Sales news release Environmental Tillage Systems' (ETS) is proud to announce a SoilWarrior® marketing partnership with Waitt Equipment Sales, Inc. of Cicero, Indiana and Taylorville, Illinois. Waitt Equipment is a leading dealer of fertilizer application equipment and grain storage and handling equipment. Environmental Tillage Systems of Faribault, Minn. is the manufacturer of SoilWarrior, the world's leading brand of zone tillage and zone fertilizer incorporation equipment. Through this partnership, Waitt Equipment Sales and ETS are selling, leasing, stocking and servicing SoilWarrior® products in the Eastern Corn Belt including Illinois and Indiana. The ETS SoilWarrior system is the premier method of row crop tillage and fertility application. According to Craig Hiemstra, Vice President of Business Development for ETS, the SoilWarrior system is being used by some of the best and brightest producers in four countries and three continents, so far. "We're thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Waitt Equipment," says Todd Conner, ETS business development manager for the Eastern Corn Belt. "The U.S. Corn Belt is among the most productive land in the world. I've spent my life and career in agriculture in Indiana and Illinois, and I'm really enjoying working with some of the most innovative farmers there are. Our Waitt Equipment relationship is an important part of our efforts in this region," sayd Conner. The SoilWarrior system was developed by a Faribault area farmer. A key design objective was to address the classic shortcomings associated with other tillage methods, including traditional strip tillage systems, conventional tillage and no till practices. SoilWarrior has a unique hybrid approach that really works in the field. Each element of the SoilWarrior system serves an agronomic purpose. According to Kevin Kuehn, Director of Product and Service for ETS, the SoilWarrior eliminates the excessive tillage and soil disturbance of conventional tillage practices, but has distinct measurable advantages over both no-till and strip-till options. "There is the old statement that when the going gets tough, the tough get going. This was clearly a challenging year for corn production. We have seen 2012 side-by-side yield comparisons involving several thousand acres, where the corn using the SoilWarrior significantly out-performed other production methods," said Kuehn. "We've have been growing consistently with strong farmer support, but we've seen a major new burst of market demand for the SoilWarrior product this year," said Hiemstra. "With our customers' 2012 in-field results as strong as they have been, we clearly expect the market enthusiasm to continue. As a new technology, you are always looking for critical mass of market acceptance. "The market enthusiasm for SoilWarrior has been overwhelming. Farmers are broadly embracing what we know is a revolutionary step forward for row crop production. We're really proud of our team. We're also thrilled with the support from our fine customers, and the encouragement of the marketplace. The enthusiasm is overwhelming. It's also gratifying to work with such a great group of leading farmers," said Heimstra. According to Kevin Born, CEO of Environmental Tillage Systems, "We've had a strong year, and we're really happy to have our marketing partnership with Waitt Equipment. Todd Conner, our Eastern Corn Belt business development manager, has hit the ground running with Waitt. Bill Wright, Waitt's CEO, has a great team and we're seeing strong momentum in the Illinois, Indiana and Ohio region of the Corn Belt. We're working with some of the finest farmers in the region, and word is getting around." "We're proud of what we've been able to accomplish in partnership with our suppliers and customers. Waitt Equipment is having a busy year this year, despite some really difficult growing conditions for farmers in 2012," said Bill Wright, CEO of Waitt Equipment Sales. "Our hats are off to our customers who have survived one of the toughest growing seasons of our careers. The SoilWarrior product line fits very well with our portfolio of fertilizer handling and application equipmen," said Wright. "And the agronomic story that goes with the SoilWarrior product line has really caught a wave of excitement with our Illinois and Indiana customers. Farmers and agribusinesses are resilient and the good ones are busy planning for the next growing season. We've seen solid performance 2012, and we're planning with our customers for a positive 2013," said Wright. "We're happy with the opportunities for our customers for the SoilWarrior product line, and we're also experiencing a great relationship with the ETS team," says Doug Dyer, General Sales Manager for Waitt Equipment.
