MISS AMERICA 2011 SIGNS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH "GREAT AMERICAN WHEAT HARVEST" FILMMAKER

Maryland-based independent filmmaker, Conrad Weaver of
ConjoStudios, LLC announces Teresa Scanlan, Miss America 2011, as a strategic partner for the Great American Wheat Harvest documentary film.

Earlier this year, Scanlan filmed a public service announcement to help recruit interest in sponsorship and create awareness to the story of connecting consumers to North America's wheat growers and custom harvesters.

At the recent 37th Annual American Agri-Women 2012 National Convention and Annual Meeting in Denver, Colo., Scanlan stated that although she may no longer wear the iconic four-point Miss America crown, she continues to use the platform it afforded her at the time to work on projects that allow her to advocate for agriculture, including the Great American Wheat Harvest documentary film.

I was so excited to continue to be a partner with them, so I will be able to promote that movie and am very much looking forward to that," Scanlan says.

Growing up in western Nebraska as the middle of seven children, Scanlan at 17-years-old became the first Miss Nebraska to be crowned Miss America in 2011 and the youngest woman since 1937. In addition to her extensive speaking engagements, Scanlan is a full-time student at Patrick Henry College in Purcelville, Va., studying government.

During her reign, Scanlan traveled more than 200,000 miles in 40 states and four countries. She believes that agriculture is the lifeblood of an economy and backbone of a society.

"Being able to represent the people in agriculture has been an incredible thing to me," she says. "I hope we can continue to fight to close the generation gap, connect producers and consumers and make more communications readily available and accessible."

Weaver says the Great American Wheat Harvest's strategic partners, like Teresa Scanlan, provide services or products related to the theme of the documentary film and have committed time and/or resources toward the publicity and success of the film.

"As we prepare to launch production in 2013, our strategic partners will be represented in our marketing and promotional materials," he says. "We look forward to working with Teresa and to be a joined voice for agriculture advocacy."
