FORMER WORLD DAIRY EXPO GM TO MANAGE ALLIANT ENERGY CENTER
BrownfieldAgNews reports:

Last week Mark Clarke announced he was stepping-down as general manager of World Dairy Expo saying he would announce where he was going in a few days.

He has...Clarke will be the new executive director of the facility that hosts World Dairy Expo, the Alliant Energy Center.

Owned by Dane County, the 164-acre campus is host to more than 500 events each year including World Dairy Expo, the Midwest Horse Fair, the state FFA Convention, the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin annual conference and the Dane County Fair.

A committee was formed last year to look at expanding the facilities; Clarke will now oversee that effort starting with planned construction of new barns on the grounds.

Pending approval by the County Board on December 10th, Clarke will succeed Bill DeCarlo who retired last June after serving 14 years at executive director of the AEC.

Located in Madison, Wisconsin, the Alliant Energy Center campus includes a 255,000 square-foot Exhibition Hall, 10,000-seat Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 22,000 square-foot Arena, nine barns and a 140-room Clarion Hotel.
