Jan. 2, 2013 BrownfieldAgNews reports: Soybean harvest in Brazil's Mato Grosso state is underway. According to Soybean and Corn Advisor, soybean yields for the early planted crop are expected to run between 36 to 43.5 bpa. The early maturing beans were slightly impacted by the dryer than normal weather that occurred in October - but yields are expected to improve by mid-January to roughly 50 bpa for the rest of the crop. Yesterday's harvest was in the municipality of Lucas do Rio Verde. They are also generally the very first to plant soybeans in Brazil. Mato Grosso is the top soybean producer in Brazil. Tweet |
