TOM VILSACK TO BE REAPPOINTED AS AG SECRETARY Jan. 15, 2013
Des Moines Register reports:
President Barack Obama will ask former Iowa governor Tom Vilsack to serve a second term as agriculture secretary on Monday, according administration officials.
A reappointment of Vilsack as the top agriculture chief comes as Congress prepares to work on crafting a new five-year $500 billion farm bill later this year. Vilsack has been quiet on his future plans, but has routinely mentioned his enjoyment of his job and how lucky he is to have it.
"The secretary has been made aware that the president would like him to continue to serve," Matt Paul, USDA's director of communications, told the Des Moines Register.
