Jan. 17, 2013 Des Moines Register reports: DuPont Pioneer received the Greater Des Moines Partnership's Diversity Award at the group's annual dinner Tuesday. The partnership's diversity council selected the Johston seed company for its extensive efforts to create a diverse workforce. The partnership said Pioneer has Rosetta Stone CDs that their employees can check out to learn foreign languages, and it has five diverse employee resource groups that work internally and externally to promote inclusion. "The agricultural challenges that farmers face are unique and different to local environments and cultures," DuPont Pioneer President Paul Schickler said in a statement. "Therefore we need a diversity of opinions, experiences and life stories to come up with the right solutions. "This kind of collaboration demand diversity. That is why respect of people is one of our business' four core values," he added. Tweet |
