OHIO GROWER WINS BECK'S HYBRIDS "300 CHALLENGE" Feb. 15, 2013 BrownfieldAgNews reports: Gary Wolfe of Nevada, Ohio is the winner of the 2012 Beck 300 Challenge with yield of 291.4 bushels per acre with BECK 6077HR. For Wolfe, not only was it the first time to participate in the challenge, it was also the first time to plant Beck's Hybrids. "Typically this field produces good yields, averaging between 180 Bu./A. to 200 Bu./A., but I have never achieved a yield as high as 291 Bu./A," said Wolfe, the 2012 Beck 300 Challenge winner. The goal of the Beck 300 Challenge is to provide farmers an opportunity to challenge their own management practices and push the envelope to reach higher yields. The top 5 participants averaged 265 bushels per acre. Tweet |
