PAULSEN MARKETING AND FORMER U.S. CONGRESSMAN TIAHRT FORM STRATEGIC D.C. PARTNERSHIP Feb. 21, 2013
Paulsen Marketing and former U.S. Rep. Todd Tiahrt (R-Kansas) have formed a partnership aimed at advancing the communication needs of agriculture-based trade associations inside Washington, D.C. "Agriculture trade associations need an effective voice inside and outside Washington, D.C., which requires a carefully crafted communication effort to farmers as well as to key leaders who can shape policy on Capitol Hill," said Greg Guse, president of Paulsen Marketing. "Paulsen understands the unique needs and ways of engaging producers, and Tiahrt's expertise encompasses the inside track in legislative circles." Paulsen Marketing and Tiahrt share a common history of serving the agricultural community. Paulsen Marketing is nationally recognized for its ability to communicate directly and authentically with farmers and ranchers. Tiahrt grew up on a family farm and in his 16-year legislative career (R-Kansas 1995-2011) he represented a state synonymous with beef and wheat. Both parties built their reputations by engaging diverse audiences, building sentiment for key issues and causes, and ultimately achieving results. "Communications, like Congress, requires a comprehensive approach to solving problems," said Tiahrt. "By anchoring the Washington, D.C.-based office for Paulsen Marketing, I am dedicated to meeting personally with agriculture associations to listen and understand the communication challenges they face. My role is to connect associations with solution-finders at Paulsen Marketing to provide strategic direction for achieving goals." The partnership will position Paulsen Marketing at the forefront of member, industry and legislative initiatives at a time when the spotlight on agriculture has never been brighter. Paulsen Marketing offers a fully integrated set of communication services, including strategic planning, message development, creative conception, digital development, media relations, issues and crisis communications and reputation management. By delivering exclusive attention to Beltway-based agricultural associations, Tiahrt will work with Paulsen Marketing and clients to advise the most effective strategies for influencing decision-makers in Washington. "Together we bring understanding about how pivotal policy can be to a producer's ability to operate and the reputation of our nation's food system as a whole. The basis of this partnership is the shared passion by Paulsen Marketing and Tiahrt to strengthen the agricultural industry and enhance opportunities for farmers to feed a growing global population," Guse said.
