The new site contributes to the group's efforts, which also include new product lines and services, to enhance the appeal of the brand and provide more benefits to its members. The new site has three functions: 1. To be a hub for Agri Star members - providing them with up to date information on the group's products and services as well as important agriculture news 2. To inform potential members about the group's offerings and how they can enjoy the same benefits 3. To serve producers by helping them to find a local Agri Star partner dealer and to see the advantages of the products and services they offer "The Agri Star group has experienced tremendous success since its inception under the AgWest name over 15 years ago," says Agri Star Country Manager, Ron DeKok. "Our new website signals that we are moving forward to provide even more value to our existing members and to deliver the superior services and product offerings that will attract new members." AgWest became Agri Star following the purchase of the group in 2012 by US-based crop protection product manufacturer and formulator Albaugh Inc.The Agri Star website will also introduce a new line of high quality crop protection products made by Albaugh and sold under the Agri Star label. These products will be available to the Western Canadian market exclusively from Agri Star dealers. "Our group was created by fiercely independent retailers who knew that only by working together could they gain the power necessary to get high volume pricing from key manufacturers and to solidify access to supply channels," adds DeKok. "Agri Star members ensure their long-term independence by remaining strong competitors in their markets.
