CANADIAN TRACTOR, COMBINE SALES RISE SHARPLY IN FEBRUARY

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers' monthly "Flash Report," the sales of all tractors in Canada for February 2013 were up 36% compared to the same month last year.

For the year 2013, a total of 2,763 tractors were sold, which compares to 2,055 sold through February 2012.

For the month, two-wheel-drive smaller tractor (under 40 HP) were up 34% from last year, and 40 & under 100 HP were up .8%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were up 71% from last year, and four-wheel-drive tractors were up 128% for the month.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are up 40% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP are up 5%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are up 50%, while 4-wheel Drive tractors are up 128% for the year.

Combine sales were up 59% for the month. Sales of combines for two months totaled 167, a increase of 21% over the same period in 2012.
