New Vehicles Unveiled at Show
Visitors to the 2013 Farm Progress Show will be among the first in the country to test drive the all-new 2014 Yamaha Viking™ Side-by-Side (SxS) vehicles.
The Farm Progress Show demo rides will give farmers a chance to drive the new Viking and imagine how they might use the vehicle as a tool to haul seed, scout and check on crops, and conduct spot spraying. On livestock operations, the Viking can be used for countless tasks including feed hauling, pasture management, herd health scouting, chute and equipment movement, and crew transport.
The Ram Truck brand is bringing an interactive experience to the Farm Progress Show and attendees will have the opportunity to ride through a performance track filled with obstacles and real life road hazards that showcase the performance and safety features of Ram trucks.
Participants in the Ram Off-Road Experience will ride with a performance driver through a 25,000-square-foot interactive obstacle course that showcases the capabilities of Ram trucks including a 13-foot, 30-degree hill climb to demonstrate traction; rocks and logs to demonstrate articulation and stability; bumps to demonstrate suspension; and a Ram Mountain to demonstrate ground clearance, approach and departure angles. Once atop the mountain, riders sit nearly 20 feet off the ground, providing a panoramic view of the show.
This year's Farm Progress Show demonstration rides by Honda will feature the all-new, 2014 Pioneer Side-by-Side Utility Vehicles, the 700 and 700-4. The Pioneer 700-4 features an all-new convertible design that allows the two rear seats to fold into the bed.
Owners can opt to use the Pioneer with two-seat, three-seat or four-seat configurations. Best of all, the rear seats fold quickly and easily without the need for tools, and once folded away the Pioneer's tilt-bed space can be fully utilized.
This gives the Pioneer all the versatility of a cargo hauler or four-passenger Side-by-Side, on a more maneuverable, two-passenger sized wheelbase. The Pioneer has the only industry standard roll-over protection certification for its class of Side-by-Side vehicles.
Chevrolet will offer test drives of the all-new 2014 Silverado at the Farm Progress Show.
Powered by a trio of powerful and efficient EcoTec3 engines that offer both class-leading towing capability and V-8 fuel efficiency, the new Silverado offers: a stronger, quieter, more comfortable cab; a refined new interior with features and connectivity tailored to the needs of truck customers; revised steering, suspension and brakes for improved ride and handling; and ingenious solutions for managing cargo in the bed.
Attendees of the Farm Progress Show are invited to test drive a Chevrolet at an off-road course located north of the Annex.
Titan Tire will be hosting a Ride 'n' Drive, showcasing some of the unique tire configurations used by real growers in order to overcome field challenges for their applications.
Stop by the Titan booth at Central Progress Ave at 11th Street to sign up for an opportunity to drive and feel the results of these new tires on a Case Magnum 340 or a John Deere 8235r. The ride 'n' drive location will be just northwest of Gate #1 on the western side of the grounds.
There is no extra cost to participate in a Ride 'n' Drive. Hours for the Ride 'n' Drives are the same as the show hours.
