BRANDT HONORED AT INAUGURAL PRIVATE BUSINESS GROWTH AWARDS
Source: Brandt Tractor news release

The Brandt Group of Companies was honoured to be selected as one of the top five fastest growing companies in Canada at the inaugural Private Business Growth Awards. A gala was held at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto on November 19, 2013 to celebrate the achievement of the ten privately held Canadian companies shortlisted for the award.

"We were so pleased to be honoured at an event like this one," said Brandt chairman Gavin Semple, who attended the gala.

"Brandt is proud to be a privately held company - and we're proud to be Canadian. We're a family business and we care so much about our ability to provide good jobs and quality products here and around the world. To be recognized for our track record of profitability, growth, innovation, and leadership is a great honour," he said.

The Private Business Growth Awards are presented by Grant Thornton in partnership with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce to highlight the strategic excellence and noteworthy achievements of Canada's privately held companies, sometimes lost to the spotlight claimed by publicly held companies.

Finalists were chosen based on their achievements in eight key areas, including innovation, product and service development, expansion into new domestic or international markets, development of people and culture, leadership, and improvements in internal processes, stakeholder relations, and financial measures or governance.

"Brandt has seen unsurpassed growth over the past decade - from $403 million in sales in 2002 to $1.4 billion in 2012," said Semple.

"This success has come, in part, from the entrepreneurial spirit we see modeled from the top leaders in our company right down to our newest hires and most remote locations.

"We are always seeking out new and better ways to deliver excellent products, offer excellent customer service, and create an excellent place for our employees to build their careers - while caring about the communities where we operate. We're proud of our success. And it means a lot to have that success recognized in such a public way," said Semple.

"Brandt congratulates the other finalists, as well as this year's winner, GreenField Specialty Alcohols Inc.," said Semple.
