Farm Journal Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of Tracy Gerstle, Senior Policy and Advocacy Adviser. She joins the Foundation's anti-hunger platform-Farmers Feeding the World.

In her new role, Tracy is instrumental in fostering public dialogue on reducing global hunger by supporting and promoting sustainable agricultural productivity programs and policies.

"We are delighted to have Tracy join the team. Her breadth of boots-on-the-ground experience and ties to the international development community will help us ensure that our efforts directly address the needs of farmers in the developing world, while leveraging the opportunities that modern agricultural development can offer," said Charlene Finck, President of Farm Journal Foundation.

Tracy brings experience convening farming communities, governments and businesses across 25 countries in Asia, Latin America and Africa in developing sustainable food systems and fostering inclusive economic growth. With the leading international nonprofit organizations, CARE and Mercy Corps, she developed and managed programs that linked farmers to markets and promoted the participation of women and youth.

Prior to joining Farm Journal Foundation, Tracy served with CropLife International, co-chairing the Farming First coalition and representing the plant science industry in United Nations forums on food security, agriculture and climate change, including Rio+20, the Committee on World Food Security and the UN Framing Convention on Climate Change.

Tracy holds a master's in international development from the Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from the University of Maryland. She is also fluent in Russian. She will be based in Washington, D.C., where she lives with her two children and husband.

Tracy will support the Foundation in bringing farmer voices to Washington to engage in education and nonpartisan advocacy efforts with policymakers. She will also play a role in expanding the efforts of Farm Journal Foundation abroad.
