USFRA ANNOUNCES ESSAY SWEEPSTAKES FOR FFA MEMBERS
Source: U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance (USFRA)

WHAT: Essay Sweepstakes for FFA Members to Win a Trip to D.C. on Ag Day for a Special Screening of Farmland, a documentary by James Moll.

•Between Feb. 18-28, FFA members will be encouraged to draft and post a brief social media friendly "essay" that starts with the writing prompt, "I am the future..." This post should incorporate #FarmlandFilm and describe the role they can play in the future of agriculture.

•To ensure this activity is in compliance with Facebook membership rules, participation/eligibility would be limited to students in grades 9-12, aged 13-18.

•Once the post has been made, students will fill out the entry form on FoodDialogues.com. One entry (which meets entrance requirements), will be chosen at random on or around Mar. 5, 2014.

•The winner and two guests will win a trip to Washington, DC for Ag Day and the "Farmland" private event (estimated arrival Mar. 24, departure Mar. 27). The winner will be encouraged to share her/his experience via Tweets and blogging, which will be highlighted on USFRA social media channels.

WHEN: Entry period open from Feb. 18-28 on FoodDialogues.com

WHY: Young farmers and ranchers are an important audience for USFRA. In order to drive engagement, we are engaging today's "next generation of farmers and ranchers," specifically members of FFA, via an essay sweepstakes timed in conjunction with FFA Week.
