CANADIAN TRACTOR SALES DOWN1% IN FEBRUARY; COMBINES UP 26%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers' monthly "Flash Report," the sales of all tractors in Canada for February 2014 were down 1% compared to the same month last year.

For the year 2014, a total of 3,154 tractors were sold, which compares to 2,765 sold through February 2013.

For the month, two-wheel-drive smaller tractor (under 40 HP) were up 18% from last year, and 40 & under 100 HP were down 9%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were down 11% from last year, and four-wheel-drive tractors were down 18% for the month.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are up 26% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were up 13%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are up 8%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are down 16% for the year.

Combine sales were up 26% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 282, an increase of 69% over the same period in 2013.
