Source: Burrus Hybrids news release

Stephanie Porter has joined Burrus Hybrids as an agronomist. Porter's responsibilities will include educating growers and Burrus staff on all types of pests that affect corn, soybean, and alfalfa production. The announcement was made by Tom Burrus, president of Burrus Hybrids.

"Stephanie is an experienced, talented individual with extensive knowledge in troubleshooting and loves to figure out what has impacted plant growth," said Burrus.

"Her background of growing up on a farm and having an active role in it - as well as her capabilities - are an incredible match for the Burrus need. We consider the addition of Stephanie's knowledge an ideal gain for our customers and the leading trait technology Burrus provides. Our customers will benefit greatly from her added skills."

Previously with the University of Illinois Plant Clinic for three years, Porter held conservationist, education, and diagnostician positions, receiving numerous awards. She also served in a management position for three years with Crop Pro-Tech, Inc. in Bloomington, Ill.

Porter is active in many professional organizations, including the Illinois Extension Agriculture Agents, National Plant Diagnostic Network Training and Education Committee, and was elected to the Illinois Arborist Association Board.
