FARM JOURNAL FOUNDATION: NATIONAL AG DAY A RESOUNDING SUCCESS
Source: Farm Journal Foundation news release

The 41st annual National Agriculture Day took place on Tuesday, March 25th, and all in attendance enjoyed a day full of events and activities highlighting agriculture's importance. Farm Journal Foundation was a proud sponsor at the partner level.

Building on the National Ag Day theme of "Agriculture: 365 Sunrises and 7 Billion Mouths to Feed," the Foundation's hunger-fighting platform, Farmers Feeding the World, brought two of its premiere programs to Washington to help celebrate agriculture's contribution to global food security. In a perfect spot right next to the U.S. Capitol on the National Mall, the HungerU team went to work educating the general public on issues and expanding their network of anti-hunger champions.

Meanwhile, inside the various House and Senate buildings, Farm Team members made their voices heard, advocating on behalf of the world's hungry. "Ag Day is a gratifying and inspiring experience for those of us who work in agriculture.

We are able to share our love of the land with everyone from our elected leaders to visitors hoping to learn more about where their food comes from," said Charlene Finck, President of the Farm Journal Foundation. "We are happy that Farm Journal Foundation sponsored this event and expanded Ag Day's footprint in Washington with the addition of our complementary activities."

Despite the snow, HungerU's young ambassadors were able to visit with visitors from the agricultural community, as well as those vacationing in Washington, D.C., for spring break.

Supported by DuPont Crop Protection and SFP, HungerU has traveled to more than 38 college campuses since the innovative awareness campaign launched in fall 2012. The next stops for the tour are Virginia State University and Texas A&M University. For more information, please visit www.HungerU.com.

Complementary to the HungerU tour visit, Farmers Feeding the World (FFW) celebrated the inaugural visit of its Farm Team advocates. The visiting farmers represented the states of Indiana, South Dakota and Minnesota, engaging in meaningful dialogue about agriculture's role in the fight against world hunger.

These passionate farmer leaders will return to their home states well trained and prepared to recruit other farmers to join their cause, continuing the conversation on global hunger and modern agricultural development with their legislators.
