OHIO'S HERITAGE CO-OP BREAKS GROUND ON $35 MILLION EXPANSION
BrownfieldAgNews reports:

Heritage Co-op has broken ground on a $35 million project in Marysville, OH.

Heritage CEO, Eric Parthemore says the new ag campus and research farm is designed to meet the changing needs of their farmer customers.

"Technology has changed and how do we retain that relevance, how do we continue to provide that, that's what this project is all about," said Parthemore.

Marysville Mayor, John Gore says the addition of the Heritage facility is great news for Marysville and Union County.

"As you heard the Commissioner's speak earlier about agriculture, not only in Union County, but inside the City of Marysville limits, it is a major impact in our community," Mayor Gore said. "This just outstanding to have them make a commitment."

One of the key elements of the project when completed will be the addition of a CSX Transportation Class 1 unit train grain marketing facility, which will feature one of only two loop tracks in Ohio.

"The loop is capable of loading and unloading a 90 car grain train, as well as fertilizer trains and the trains can enter and exit the site in either direction," said Steve Davis, Manager of Industrial Development at CSX.

4th District Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan was back in his District for the announcement that Heritage Cooperative would build a $35 million ag campus and research farm in Marysville. The Congressman tells Brownfield the announcement sends the message that agriculture is strong in Ohio.

"It's the biggest industry in the State, it shows how strong that particular industry is and what it means to Ohio, and particularity our part of the State," the Congressman said.

"Heritage is all about Central and West Central Ohio, so it's all over the 4th District and that's why we're excited to be here today and excited to hear the good news."
