AMERICAN SOYBEAN ASSN'S SUCCESSION PLANNING WORKSHOPS RESCHEDULED
Source: American Soybean Association news release

Due to spring rains delaying planting and harvesting in the south, ASA has rescheduled the Succession Planning Workshops in Memphis, Tenn. and Paducah, Ky. The workshops originally scheduled in June will now take place on Monday, Aug. 4 in Memphis and Wednesday, Aug. 6 in Paducah.

The Memphis program will now be held at the Agricenter International, 7777 Walnut Grove Rd, Memphis, Tenn. 38120. The program in Paducah will still be at the Julian Carroll Convention Center at 414 Park Street, Paducah, Ky. 42001.

"This rescheduling was made after careful consideration and consultation with grower leaders and the sponsoring state associations," said Byron Keelin, ASA Member Education Development Manager. "ASA understands some have registered for these meetings, and we will do everything in our power to make sure those who have registered are not inconvenienced further."

"This is very important information for soybean producers and we want as many as possible to hear these seminars, rescheduling for August is the right thing to do," said Bob Worth, ASA Membership and Corporate Relations Committee Chair.

The other locations and dates are still the same:
July 30, Sioux Falls, S.D, Sioux Falls Convention Center
Aug 19, Columbus, Ohio, Renaissance Columbus Downtown
Aug 21, Fort Wayne, Ind., The Landmark Centre
Dec 4, Moline, Ill., Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center

The workshops are open to all soybean producers and have a registration fee for ASA members of $50 for the first person in a family and $30 for each additional family member. For non ASA members, the registration fee for the first person in a family $90 and a $70 fee charged for each additional person. To register, visit: http://soygrowers.com/succession-planning-workshop/, and choose which city and session you want to attend.

The workshops will be taught by Kevin Spafford, founder of Legacy by Design, a firm dedicated to succession planning for farm families and agribusiness owners. Over the last 10 years, Kevin spearheaded initiatives to improve the way farmers, ranchers and agribusiness owners engage in the succession planning process.

The ASA Succession Planning Workshops are sponsored by Farm Credit, AGCO, the Illinois Soybean Association, Kentucky Soybean Association, Michigan Soybean Association, Ohio Soybean Association and the South Dakota Soybean Association.
