"ZOETIS FOR SHELTERS" PROGRAM WINS GOLD CAUSE MARKETING HALO AWARD
Source: Zoetis news release

Zoetis was honored with a Gold Cause Marketing Halo Award in the Best Business Model Integration Category at the 12th Annual Cause Marketing Forum Conference on May 29 in Chicago. A total of 18 awards were given out to programs judged to be the best at "doing well by doing good" in 2013.

The company was recognized for its Zoetis for Shelters program, an initiative in the United States to help companion animal pet shelters across the country receive discounted medicines and vaccines.

This allows shelters to reinvest the cost savings to support their mission to rescue pets at risk and find them forever homes. Shelters represent the single biggest source for new pets in the United States. Once adopted, new pet owners rely on community based veterinarians for the healthcare of their animals.

"The Zoetis for Shelters program contributes to the company's Commitment to Veterinarians™ in a very meaningful way," said Steven Leder, senior vice president of the U.S. Companion Animal business.

"With Zoetis for Shelters, we have created an entirely new cause marketing business model that helps shelter dogs and cats while bringing in new patients for veterinarians. We appreciate the Cause Marketing Forum for recognizing this innovative program that benefits shelters, veterinarians and, most importantly, companion animals."

"We congratulate Zoetis on its efforts to do well by doing good," said Cause Marketing Forum President David Hessekiel. More than 100 programs were entered in this year's Cause Marketing Halo Award competition, from a broad range of industries including financial, retail and manufacturing.

"In this crowded marketplace, Cause Marketing Halo Award-winning campaigns have risen to the top because of their authenticity, effectiveness in communicating a cause message and ability to generate social and financial dividends," Hessekiel said. "These campaigns offer creative partnership solutions that leverage assets of company and cause."
