FARM JOURNAL FOUNDATION ADDS PROGRAM COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
Source: Farm Journal Foundation news release

The Farm Journal Foundation is pleased to announce the hiring of Gloria Nantulya as the team's Program Communications Specialist based out of the Washington, D.C., office.

Nantulya joins the Foundation after spending the past two years working as the communications officer for Brentec Vaccines, a pharmaceutical company in Uganda that produces a poultry vaccine designed to reach rural poultry farmers in the region.

"Gloria comes to us after spending time in the field with smallholder farmers, so she understands firsthand the importance of agriculture to poverty and hunger alleviation," said Charlene Finck, President, Farm Journal Foundation.

"The combination of her communications expertise and up-close-and-personal experience with many of the issues we prioritize will lend an invaluable new perspective to our team."

A native of East Africa, Nantulya has a background in development work as a consultant for a communications and grassroots organization called Mango Tree Uganda as well as for the Uganda AIDS Commission, where she was an adviser to the communications clearinghouse introduced in 2013.

She also was a Civic Responsibility Fellow at the Hill+Knowlton Strategies office in D.C., and has interned at several international organizations, including the UN Refugee Agency, Mildmay Uganda and FIND Diagnostics.

In her role with Farm Journal Foundation, Nantulya will manage communications and coordination in support of Farmers Feeding the World and its cornerstone programs, HungerU and the Farm Team.

Nantulya graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in public relations from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and completed a master's degree in international relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, both at Syracuse University.
