USDA ISSUES CURRENT CROP CONDITIONS REPORT

USDA's crop condition rating declined slightly over the past week for soybeans, while corn held steady.

As of Sunday, 96% of corn is silking, compared to 93% a year ago at this time and the five year average of 95%, while 54% is at the dough making stage, compared to 30% last year and 46% on average. 11% of corn has dented, compared to 5% a year ago and 16% on average. 73% of corn is in good to excellent shape, unchanged on the week, but with one percent declining from excellent to good.

92% of soybeans are blooming, compared to 87% last year and 91% on average, with 72% at the pod setting stage, compared to 55% a year ago and 65% on average. 70% of U.S. soybeans are rated good to excellent, 1% less than last week.

95% of the U.S. winter wheat crop is harvested, compared to 91% a year ago and 90% on average, while 6% of spring wheat is harvested, compared to 5% last year and 21% on average. 70% of spring wheat is rated good to excellent, steady with a week ago.

50% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are in good to excellent condition, also unchanged on the week.
