NASA OPENS NEW DOOR FOR MANUFACTURERS; ASSN OF EQUIPMENT MFGRS ANNOUNCES CONFERENCE
Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) reports:

NASA's pivot to deep space exploration and its abandonment of low Earth orbit (LEO) to the private sector is creating new opportunities for the advanced manufacturing industry.

NASA (the National Aeronautics and Space Administration) says it wants to concentrate its human spaceflight program beyond LEO - to the moon, Mars, and beyond. This dramatic change and the potential business prospects it represents are the focus for SpaceCom, the Space Commerce Conference and Exposition, November 17-19 in Houston, Texas.

Declining launch costs and the entry of entrepreneurs into the LEO sector have opened a new window for advanced manufacturing that could result in a sustainable commercial market not reliant on NASA as its sole customer, said James Causey, executive director of SpaceCom.

"The advanced manufacturing industry must be ready to capitalize on these paradigm shifts and their game-changing effects," Causey noted. "While many solutions to space-related problems have had a direct impact on Earth, the extent of technology transfer is yet to be fully exploited. SpaceCom will address this potential."

AEM to Host Advanced Manufacturing Track

AEM will host the advanced manufacturing track of the SpaceCom conference program, as well as the Industry Center on the show floor. To learn about more about advanced manufacturing opportunities, click here.

SpaceCom also offers the chance to participate in the Advanced Manufacturing Roundtable to analyze case studies that can be applied to your business. Seeded into each group will be a financial and NASA expert to aid in the discussion.
