STRATEGIC PARTNERS A MAJOR FACTOR IN TRIMBLE SUCCESS
In addition to the creative energy and enthusiasm of the company's various disciplines, Trimble had lots of additional help in achieving success with its EZ-Guide Plus and EZ-Steer product launches.

"Our marketing strategy with these products has been to develop the market worldwide with strategic partners such as Ag Leader Technology, CNH -- including Case IH and New Holland dealerships -- and Hardi International," says George Huber, global sales director for Trimble. "These have been excellent entry-level products for our strategic marketing partners as well as our Trimble dealers."

Sid Siefken, Lightbar Guidance and GPS Sensor manager for Trimble, says each of these three strategic partners has found unique ways to better serve key market segments by offering EZ-Guide Plus and EZ-Steer systems to customers.

"Ag Leader Technology, for example, is well known for its yield monitoring capabilities and mapping software," notes Siefken. "Because EZ-Guide Plus can provide external GPS data to yield monitors, it's a natural step for that customer to buy this type of Trimble system from a company with whom he's already comfortable, such as Ag Leader Technology.

"As major equipment manufacturers, when CNH brand dealers have a machine sold, they can help improve their customers' satisfaction with its performance by adding an EZ-Guide Plus and EZ-Steer system," says Siefken. "Customers like the fact that they're buying proven GPS equipment from a dealer they know they can rely on for strong service and support.

"The focus of Hardi International is on sprayers and spraying applications," continues Siefken. "As boom sizes have increased from 60 feet to 90, and now to 120 feet, Hardi understands the importance of getting effective use from every inch of those big booms moving through the field -- to save time, expensive chemicals and fuel, and to help protect the environment from spray overlaps.

"So overall, these Trimble products complement the products that our OEM partners are already selling," adds Siefken. "They're just applying the Trimble technology to make their customers even more efficient and more satisfied with the product they purchased." AM
