WISCONSIN SOYBEAN ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES NEW YIELD CONTEST Feb. 5, 2010 American Soybean Association (ASA) reports: Soybean growers in Wisconsin who think they've perfected a growing method that produces high yields now have an opportunity to win up to $1,000 in the Wisconsin Soybean Association's (WSA) Soybean Yield Contest. This new program encourages growers to challenge themselves to produce higher yields and to be rewarded for their efforts. Top growers will be recognized for achieving high yields while using sound, environmentally friendly production practices that are profitable as well. Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners in each of two contest classes: non-irrigated and irrigated. The winner is the entry that has the highest soybean yield based on bushels per acre at 13 percent moisture. Entrants must be a member of WSA. Contest entry must be from at least 10 continuous acres of one variety that is currently commercially available. Entries must be postmarked by July 15, 2010. For complete rules and to enter, contact Wisconsin State Soybean Specialist Shawn Conley at (608) 262-7975 or see more information from the contest brochure. |
