Weekly Comments: It was a wild week in the corn market as futures prices came under heavy pressure from better-than-expected planting progress, but rallied furiously on Friday in response to lower-than-expected USDA carryout estimates for 2007-08. Soybean futures were supported much of the week by improved corn planting progress and extended gains on Friday in response to a friendly new-crop carryout estimate. Wheat futures also broke higher on Friday, despite a larger-than-expected U.S. winter wheat crop as USDA estimates spurred renewed concerns about tight world wheat stocks.
