Weekly Comments: Corn and soybean futures found more support from surging crude oil futures and renewed weakness in the value of the dollar, which boosted fears of general inflation and expectations for biodiesel demand. Large U.S. corn stocks limited corn price gains. Wheat futures turned sharply lower again despite the supportive outside markets amid indications of waning export demand for U.S. wheat and big winter wheat plantings. Cotton futures trade stayed choppy as pressure from large U.S. supplies was offset by inflation concerns and expectations for lower U.S. acreage. Live cattle futures were pressured lower by weaker-than-expected cash markets and concerns about soft beef demand. Lean hog futures continued to grind lower under pressure from record hog supplies as the wholesale pork market struggled to absorb the large supplies.
