Comments: Grain and soybean futures found support from speculative short covering spurred by oversold conditions and month-end position evening last week. Firm cash markets also provided some support for corn and soybean futures, but prices never gained upward momentum in the face of mostly bearish fundamental news and more negative economic data. Wheat futures turned lower again on slow export demand and a strong dollar, despite continued dryness in the southern Plains. Live cattle futures rebounded on month-end position evening and stronger Plains cash markets. Lean hog futures were also supported by oversold conditions and position evening despite weak cash hog and pork prices. Cotton futures continued to take a pounding from speculative selling spurred by the weak economy. Click on the Brock logo or call 1-800-558-3431 for more info on our services.
