Annual NAMA convention convenes in Atlanta this week! NAMA Best of Show winners will be posted at www.AgriMarketing.com immediately after their presentation on Wednesday afternoon.
Comments: Soybean futures edged higher again last week as strong Chinese demand and reduced South American competition continued to provide good price support. Corn futures faltered, though, as speculative profit taking set in ahead of Easter weekend despite a lower USDA carryout estimate. Wheat futures gave back most of the previous week's gains as indications U.S. wheat was overpriced in the world market overshadowed a freeze threat to the HRW wheat crop. Live cattle futures staged an upward breakout on strengthening cash prices and expectations for a seasonal jump in beef demand. Lean hog futures mostly moved higher on expectations for improved pork demand, but the expiring April contract was pressured by its premium to cash. Cotton futures continued to find support from improved economic sentiment. Click on the Brock logo or call 1-800-558-3431 for more info on our services.
