Comments: Soybean futures surged again last week on continued support from strong Chinese demand, tight U.S. supplies and smaller crop Argentine crop estimates before faltering on Friday as speculators took profits. Corn futures came under further pressure from improving Midwest weather forecasts and renewed demand concerns, while wheat futures consolidated in a narrow range. The wheat market remained under pressure from slow demand but found support from U.S. crop uncertainty. Live cattle futures continued to be led higher by seasonal strength in cash cattle and wholesale beef prices, while hog futures eased under pressure from their premium to cash markets. Cotton futures were boosted by strong weekly export sales and technically-driven short covering. Click on the Brock logo or call 1-800-558-3431 for more info on our services. |
