Comments: Grain and soybean futures extended gains as strong stock markets, rising crude oil prices and a weak dollar spurred more fund buying. Soybean futures continued to find strong fundamental support from tight U.S. stocks and Argentine crop losses. Corn futures found fundamental support from the lack of planting progress in the eastern Corn Belt, while wheat futures were boosted by spring wheat planting delays and position evening ahead of USDA's first 2009 winter wheat crop report. Livestock futures rebounded as funds covered short positions due to easing H1N1 flu fears and strong outside markets. Hog futures were supported by a cash market recovery, while cattle futures rose in the face of weaker cash prices. Cotton futures continued to attract investment strong fund buying despite overbought conditions. Click on the Brock logo or call 1-800-558-3431 for more info on our services. |
