Comments: Grain and soybean futures were strong last week as a collapse in the value of the dollar and strong crude oil futures spurred commodity fund buying. Soybeans continued to lead the way higher with tight old-crop supplies and strong demand also providing strong fundamental support for prices. Corn futures found increased fundamental support from eastern Corn Belt planting delays and wheat continued to find support from spring wheat planting problems. Live cattle futures generally continued chopping sideways with weak beef demand keeping a lid on prices, while lean hog futures came under added pressure from weakness in cash hog and wholesale pork prices. Cotton futures rebounded on speculative short covering spurred by the weak dollar. Click on the Brock logo or call 1-800-558-3431 for more info on our services.
