Comments: Grain and soybean futures kept pushing higher last week with help from a swooning dollar and strong crude oil future prices, which fueled renewed talk of inflation. Wheat futures took the upward lead from soybean futures amid continued concerns about spring wheat acreage and disease problems in SRW wheat areas. Signs of slowing export demand limited soybean gains. Corn gains were limited by improved weather in the eastern Corn Belt and large old-crop stocks. The weaker dollar could not help livestock futures, which came under fresh pressure from fund selling and weak cash market fundamentals, especially weak meat prices. Cotton futures struggled most of the weak, but rallied fiercely on Friday as the dollar collapsed. Click on the Brock logo or call 1-800-558-3431 for more info on our services.
