Comments: Corn and soybean futures gained further ground last week with help from fund buying spurred by inflation worries and crop uncertainty. Nearby soybean futures also continued to find very strong support from tight U.S. soybean stocks. A strong rebound in the value of the U.S. dollar late in the week limited corn gains, however and derailed the rally in overbought wheat futures. Building anticipation of the winter wheat harvest also weighed on wheat prices. Live cattle futures were pressured by weaker cash cattle and wholesale beef prices, while lean hog futures were smashed by concerns about weak pork prices and larger-than-expected hog supplies. Cotton futures turned lower on the dollar's rebound and dismal domestic demand. Click on the Brock logo or call 1-800-558-3431 for more info on our services.
